We began shooting on the Canon 5DmkII camera’s after Re:Frame Austin this year and are just astounded by the saturated imagery this camera produces. One of our first shoots on it was documenting “A Lovely Workshop” by Elizabeth Messina. {which we are excited to share here very soon!}
{friend & fellow filmmaker Philip Bloom with his Canon 5DmkII}
It’s been an interesting journey shooting weddings on the 5D camera because everyone thinks we are photographers. We get poses and ’smiles’ left and right. So much so that I often find myself saying “click” just so that people will stop posing and start moving!
What has also been cool is the reaction from photographers {at first the shock on their faces thinking another photographer cramped their shoot!} but secondly, the camaraderie that is strengthened knowing that if the other needs to borrow a lens, battery charger, etc. that we have each others backs. Many photographers I’ve worked with have said that they purchased or are thinking of purchasing this camera because of it’s video capability, yet they still don’t know how to work with it due to time, not understanding the ingestion or how to edit it…
Well photog friends, here’s your chance! Re:Frame San Francisco has just opened it’s doors to photographers that want to learn all about Canon 5D video workflow.
Learn 5D Video Workflow at RF:SF from Re:Frame Collective on Vimeo.
My filmmaking background began as a photographer… I simply got tired of static images, I wanted my subjects to MOVE within the frame. Perhaps you’re feeling this way as well, or maybe you want to add dimension to your e-sessions, baby shoots, senior portraits or for your own personal family documentation.
RF:SF is a one-time opportunity to submerge yourself with the most accomplished 5D shooters in the game. You will learn more than your brain can handle, and this opportunity is open to people at all levels. There are less than 20 spots left so secure your seat today ~ Looking forward to seeing you in SF!

SOOOOO wishing that I was a Canon shooter to have an excuse to come play. Do you know anyone who would like to *sponsor* little bean to change to Canon? I would totally think about changing if they gave me all new lenses…I’ll just keep on daydreaming! Good luck with the workshop. Sounds grand!
